Castellar de la Frontera is one of those villages, which has a magnificient fortress of the 10th Century and within its walls a picturesque village, all this surrounded by the National Park of Alcornocales.

Castellar is a village, which is divided in two parts: one, the old part inside the fortress walls, and two, the new or urban part at some kilometres from the fortress. The distance between Sotogrande and Castellar is a mere 25 mins and this is a place, where you can also enjoy the lush countryside of this National Park.
