If you'd like to try an alternative to the Sotogrande beach, here below we list you in detail what other beaches here are in store. Please note, that none of the mentioned beaches is more than an hours drive from Sotogrande, however, beware, during the summer months, traffic may be getting heavy. The Campo de Gibraltar has a peculiarity, which no other region on the Iberian peninsula can offer, that is, it's beaches are divided in three entirely different layouts and atmospheres. On one side beaches on the Mediterranean Sea, on the other side, beaches in the bay of Algeciras and third the beaches on the Atlantic.
Three complete different natural environments, shared by five boroughs San Roque, La Línea de la Concepción, Los Barrios, Algeciras and Tarifa. Of these, Los Barrios and Algeciras are encountered in the Bay of Algeciras; San Roque and La Linea are found on the Mediterranean Sea and on Tarifa's shores meet the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.
To distinguishe these natural environments for example, Tarifa has nice beaches on the Atlantic, specially Los Lances, Valdevaqueros and Atlanterra. These are beaches of fine brown sands, which may be a little awkward when it is windy and the wind blows often and strong in Tarifa..
The beaches of Sotogrande are well loved because of their cleanliness and beauty like beaches east of Sotogrande and of the Línea de la Concepción.
Of the Algeciras bay, Play de Getares is worth mentioning as for the rest, because of industrial contamination and not being looked after, beaches near Gibraltar and in the bay of Algeciras are in a rather poor state. |
